
Amitvikram Sharma is a Venture Partner at Indus and a Partner at his own advisory firm, founded in August 2022 to help ventures with growth and fundraising. From 2015-2022 he worked with Claris Lifesciences, a $125 million Healthcare Group, where he headed Venture Capital and new initiatives, deploying balance sheet capital and building an initial VC pool of around Rs.100 crore across early-stage Fintech, Consumer, Healthcare and Logistics businesses.
He brings three decades of Indian Venture Capital and Private Equity experience, having screened thousands of companies and invested in 60 ventures across Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, Consumer, Services, Infrastructure and Technology. His career has spanned some of the best known names in the Indian VC and PE industry: GVFL, Jardine Fleming Electra, Actis, Madison India Capital, Milestone Religare and Aditya Birla Capital, before he became CEO of Claris Capital from 2015 to 2022. Along the way he has worked on marquee investments and exits such as Moser Baer, Zensar, Daksh BPO (to IBM), CARE Ratings and RBL Bank, and has raised multiple funds from a broad base of foreign and domestic Limited Partners including Adam Street Partners, the World Bank, Prudential-UK, SEDCO and SBI, among many others.
He has served on the boards of small and large companies for 20 years, working closely with portfolio businesses on growth strategy, team building and raising working capital, debt and equity, achieving exits through NSE/BSE listings, strategic sales and put options on founders. He combines deep transactional and fundraising expertise with hands-on operating and board-level involvement, and is well networked across investment banks, accounting and law firms, and dozens of LPs internationally and in India.
He is an engineer and holds an MBA in Finance and Systems from IIM Lucknow, and a B.E. (Mechanical) from N.I.T. Surat.
